Frankfurt ll

To end our journey, we took the train from Leipzig to Frankfurt. Outside the window, we saw a beautiful countryside, with horses and cows grazing in the fields. I wrote some letters along the way.

Before leaving Germany, we spent one night in Frankfurt. When I turned on the TV, a drama came on about a young man taking a Postbus into the mountains.

There is an international mail center near Frankfurt Airport. I wondered around in front of the hotel, hoping that a mail truck might pass by. Then I saw a DHL airplane flying overhead.

At the airport, I looked for a mailbox. I asked a man at one of the shops, and he told me to ask at the lottery counter next door. The woman there told me to go straight ahead. The woman at the information desk also told me to go straight ahead. I found the mailbox easily and mailed my postcards. Everyone was so kind.

In a small souvenir shop, I bought a soft teddy bear in a blue outfit to take home to the Redmond Post Office. Steiff, a German company that has been making toys since 1880, created the world’s first teddy bear in 1902.

At the passport interview room in Redmond, Kelsey had placed a stuffed dog there because she said children sometimes cry during their interviews. I thought Kelsey had a thoughtful idea, so that’s why I wanted to add the blue teddy bear to the room.

I met too many kind people to write about them all. I had such a wonderful time. I really enjoyed my late summer.

I appreciate Tim for helping me and accompanying me on the trip.

In Berlin, when my laptop stopped working, he spent hours fixing it. He also helped me edit this newsletter. He is the one who corrects the letters I write to everyone.

He is shy and low-key, and he never seeks attention. I am so grateful to have had him by my side on this trip.
