The post office in front of Heidelberg Station also sold sweets and coffee. There were only two or three service windows, but quite a few customers were using it.
I opened my notebook and showed the clerk my questions, which I had written in German.
“Do you have any stamps with a postal horn?” “No, we don’t.”
“Do you have any stamps related to Deutsche Post?” “No, we don’t.”
The woman brought out several rolls and sheets of stamps. Then she smiled and said, “If you’re staying until September, some new and beautiful stamps will be issued.”
Her warm smile made me feel happy.
DHL is part of the same group as Deutsche Post. When I waved to two DHL trucks, the drivers waved back!

In Germany, cars always stop for pedestrians at crosswalks without traffic lights. It felt warm and welcoming.
